"Wouldn’t it be incredible to create a film together for World Cancer Day?"
8 weeks ago, in a workshop, this simple idea sparked something special. With heart, courage and collaboration, we made it happen.
This film is about life after cancer - the messy, raw and hopeful reality of navigating this next chapter. It captures the voices of our community, their truths, and their hope - reminding anyone struggling after treatment that they are not alone.
It was made for individuals post-treatment, by individuals post-treatment - even the filmmaker behind the camera has been through it.
To the cancer community: we see you. Your willingness to share, reflect and come together makes this so special.
And to those watching: if you’re feeling lost or alone in life after treatment, we hope this film brings comfort. We are here. This community is here.
Please help us share this far and wide. The portrait version is now live on Instagram and Facebook - please visit @life_aftercancer or @WeAreLAC to reshare and help it reach those who need to hear these stories most. Let’s make sure no one has to navigate life after cancer alone.
A heartfelt thank you to Jonathan and Lindsay for creating this film for World Cancer Day, to everyone in the film who generously shared their experience, and to Waltham Forest Council for their funding in making it possible.
