Environmental Policy

Life after Cancer brings people together who have finished cancer treatment to form support groups, with an aim to increase their physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing.
We believe that our business is responsible for achieving good environmental practice and operating in a sustainable manner. We are committed to continual improvement in reducing our environmental impact and improving our environmental performances as an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods.

We aim to comply with relevant environmental legislation and strive to better our practices to minimise waste, energy and carbon footprint.
This environmental policy outlines the measures that Life after Cancer will take to embed sustainability into how we function as a business.

The specific aims of the Life after Cancer Environmental policy are as follows:

-
To carry out our work in an efficient way that minimises or eliminates its adverse impact on our environment.
-
Eliminate the generation of waste and reuse or recycle as much of it as possible.
-
As far as possible purchase products and services that minimise damage to the environment.
-
Assess the environmental impact of any business changes we intend to introduce in advance.
-
Ensure that all employees understand our environmental policy and contribute to achieving high standards.

Actions taken to ensure that Life after Cancer's environmental objectives are fulfilled:

-
We've digitised most of our processes, thereby minimising energy usage and reducing paper waste.
-
We minimise face-to-face meetings between ourselves and our service users, offering virtual meetings and conference calls via Zoom in order to reduce transportation impact.
-
Our aim is that bulk printed marketing material will be sourced, where possible, from local commercial printers with clear environmental policies.
-
We aim to reduce the amount of waste diverted to landfill by increasing recycling.
-
Consider in advance the environmental impact of events we host by reviewing suppliers and venues for their environmental policies.
-
Our invoicing and payments are made digitally to help minimise transportation requirements and paper usage.
